The previous blog was something that came to me on my way to my dance class in Raleigh. Those of you who know me know that I have a desire to dance. I'm not the best dancer but I love doing it! Dancing makes me feel so free and more sociable. Lately, I've been really pursuing that desire and trying to see what God wants to do with it. Some things I've tried haven't worked out, some have. On this "dream chase" I've noticed that an encouraging word or story comes to me while driving to or from my destination. I decided that I should start logging those encouraging tidbits and share them. This blog will contain those inspiring messages I collect along my journey.
SN: I started this blog because often times I feel like I'm not heard. I'm not the most verbally articulate so sometimes I don't even say all of what I want to say and it's frustrating but I figured if I write out what's on my heart someone will read it and I'll be "heard." I hope you enjoy this journey with me! Le' go!!

Last Saturday (Oct 4th) I went to a workshop given by Les Twins (Larry and Laurent). If you don't know them check them out on YouTube! (Click here for a link to a video from the workshop) These guys' dance skills are unbelievable! The whole experience was so cool!! I was really inspired and encouraged by them. They were humble and overall great people. The most powerful thing that stuck out to me was when one of the other participants asked Laurent who had been their dance teacher/trainer. Laurent said, "No one. We've never had training. We just dance." That was amazing to me! It was confirmation. Something the Holy Spirit has been dealing with me concerning dance is how He is my teacher and that I don't need to be trained in a school. I feel like I need to have a physical person to show me techniques and whatever else but He is constantly telling me I don't. He has been okay with me going to dance classes here and there but there has been no peace when I look into attending a university, getting a degree in dance. Even in the dance classes I'm in now, we aren't necessarily learning technique, just dancing.
A lady told me about four years ago that the Holy Spirit was the best teacher and that I didn't need to go to school, it didn't make sense to me for a while but now I get it. She encouraged me with Acts 4:13 (NIV) "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus." John and Peter were brought before the high priests after they were seen healing a lame man and preaching to people about Jesus. When questioned John and Peter answered with boldness that they had come in the name of Jesus Christ...(V 10). The priests marveled at the fact that Peter and John spoke to them with boldness and it was evident to them that Peter and John had been with Jesus. Verse 8 says that Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit when he spoke to the men. That says to me when I walk (or in this case, dance) in authority through the Holy Spirit and go forth in the things God has told me to do, even when I don't feel equipped he will make me shine for his glory. Then I'll have a platform to share with people that it is not by my power that I walk, live, and dance with boldness but through the power that has been left, for anyone who believes, by Jesus' death on the cross!! Hallelujah! That's what I'm excited about: God using my gifts and desires to bring people to Himself!!
So to you my brothers and sisters: If God puts something on your heart to do (you'll know that it's from him if it's good and if it will glorify him) just do it! You may not feel equipped but he will equip you along the way. The things necessary to fulfill the tasks will already be in you. You'll just have to allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate those things. If you're not a believer Ephesians 1:13-14(NIV) says, "And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory." The gospel is that sin entered into the world through the falling into temptation of Adam and Eve, but God sent his son, Jesus, to pay the price for sin so that we can be reconciled to Him. That reconciliation is available only because Christ's blood was shed, now forgiveness is available to all who believe in what Christ did and who simply ask for that forgiveness. If you believe that, the Holy Spirit is promised to you and He is the best guide/teacher/trainer for your life! Be encouraged!
